Dharma Hub Community Teachers

Dharma Hub’s resident community teachers are themselves practitioners and students of meditation and awareness.  As a team they each bring a unique approach to developing the meditative mind, sharing from their practical experiences on the path of liberation.

Evangelos DiavolitsisEvangelos Diavolitsis has been continuously studying with meditation masters Achariya Doug Duncan Sensei and Catherine Pawasarat Sensei since 2002. He studied at Theravadan monasteries in Asia and a wide range of teachers in the Namgyal Lineage including Namgyal Rinpoche.  He has also received teachings from Sakya Trinzin, Lama Ole and the Dalai Lama. His compassionate and investigative nature encourages students to view fear and confusion as an opportunity for growth and transformation. He has a passion for integrating the path of awakening with movement, art and business. His eclectic classes integrate insight practice with movement, breath, creative visualizations and loving kindness meditation. Evangelos trained with and was certified directly by urban shaman & movement master, Gabrielle Roth. He served 5 years as a board member for the Clear Sky Meditation and Study Foundation and continues to do Karma Yoga there as his regular practice.  Evangelos teaches regular movement and meditation classes in Calgary and facilitates workshops across North America.

Cara Conroy-LowCara Conroy-Low did her first meditation retreat in her early 20’s. She found there a depth of clarity and well-being, that compelled her to move to Kyoto to study further with the Dharma Japan community in 2006.  In 2009 she moved to Clear Sky Retreat Center in Canada.  There she continued to study, train and practice, while managing Clear Sky Social Enterprise farm, putting the Dharma into practice both on and off the cushion. She is now studying Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary. Cara continues her Karma Yoga practice and training with her teachers Doug Duncan and Catherine Pawasarat, as well as other teachers and trainers.

Antony03smal_310x399Antony Chauvet has studied with his meditation teachers Doug Duncan Sensei and Catherine Pawasarat since 2004. He grew up in France, and after moving to Japan and meeting the Dharma there, he became a dedicated practitioner seeking to manifest the awakened mind. He moved to Canada five years ago, and he has since regularly trained at Clear Sky Retreat Centre. His international experience and explorative mind bring a unique perspective on how the teachings heal individuals and societies.

Maya LewandowskyMaya Lewandowsky manifests as a Dharma dancing dakini. She has been studying with teachers Doug Duncan Sensei and Catherine Pawasarat since 2007. She grew up in Israel where she studied Dharma and explored the nature of consciousness in her early twenties.  “While using dance and theatre to investigate my aliveness there was a realization that I needed to dance beyond “my life”. Meditation was the missing tool. How does one simply be with whatever arises? My deepest meditations have revealed that all the identity associated with being a professional performer, an actress or a woman is simply illusory; a construct of mind. I invite you to explore your illusions in a creative way. My approach to teaching Dharma seeks to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, darkness into hope, uncertainty into vision, greed into generosity, hatred into love and confusion into wisdom through a contemporary and accessible interpretation of ancient teachings.
